The client/project

Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines using PySpark

Process and transform large-scale datasets in a Hadoop (HDFS) environment

Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand data requirements

Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across pipelines

Contribute to data architecture and data management best practices

Participate in CI/CD processes and improve deployment pipelines

Support orchestration workflows (e.g., Airflow or similar tools)

Continuously optimize data workflows for performance and cost efficiency

Required skills/technologies used

Strong experience with PySpark and SQL

Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles

Experience with at least one OOP language (e.g., Java) is a plus

Hands-on experience with data engineering / data management

Ability to communicate effectively with business stakeholders

Experience working in enterprise environments

Familiarity with containerization platforms (Kubernetes)

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools

Proactive, solution-oriented mindset

Advantages

Experience with Databricks (highly preferred)

Knowledge of Apache Airflow or other orchestration tools

Experience with cloud platforms (especially GCP)

Understanding of data governance and data quality concepts/tools

Experience with streaming technologies
