The client/project
We are looking for a Senior BI Developer who will design and develop complex reporting solutions based on both transactional and analytical data. You will work closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions while supporting the development of high-quality dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI and SQL technologies.
Responsibilities
- Gather data from various sources within the organization, such as databases, spreadsheets, APIs, and external data providers.
- Design and implement data integration processes to ensure smooth and consistent data flow into a central data repository.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements.
- Perform extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to clean, transform, and format raw data for analysis.
- Design and maintain databases optimized for querying and reporting.
- Design and develop complex reports using both transactional and analytical data.
- Create interactive dashboards and reports that present data insights in a user-friendly manner using Power BI.
- Develop visualizations that enable stakeholders to explore data and gain insights.
- Write and optimize SQL and T-SQL queries to efficiently retrieve data from databases, ensuring responsiveness even with large datasets.
- Design data models that define and organize the structure of data for analysis and reporting.
- Support and mentor other team members in report and dashboard development.
- Participate in continuous improvement of reporting standards and best practices.
Required skills/technologies used
- 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI.
- Excellent knowledge of DAX, Power Query and data modeling.
- Strong SQL skills, including T-SQL for data extraction and transformation.
- Experience designing both transactional and analytical reporting solutions.
- Strong data visualization skills and the ability to present business insights effectively.
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders and translating business needs into technical solutions.
- Experience optimizing report performance and data models.
- Fluent English communication skills.
