The client/project
We are looking for an experienced Senior Go Developer to play a key role in the greenfield redesign and redevelopment of the middleware services within the integration layer of our telecommunications client. We are seeking a professional with a strong backend engineering background who enjoys designing robust systems and delivering resilient, enterprise-grade solutions. The primary focus of the role is Go, APIs, and system integrations.
Responsibilities
- Redesign and redevelop middleware services within the integration layer using Go in a greenfield environment.
- Design, implement, and maintain backend services in accordance with enterprise standards and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with the Integration Tech Lead and architecture team to define and implement the target architecture.
- Develop a SOAP-to-REST and REST-to-SOAP conversion framework.
- Apply an API-first approach to the design and development of RESTful APIs.
- Utilize and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated delivery processes.
Required skills/technologies used
- Minimum 5 years of backend development experience.
- At least 5 years of hands-on software development experience, including strong, senior-level expertise in Go.
- Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
- Proven experience developing web services, particularly REST APIs (experience with SOAP integrations is an advantage).
- Experience designing APIs; familiarity with OpenAPI 3.0 and contract-first API design is considered a plus.
- Strong understanding of integration patterns, including synchronous/asynchronous communication, retry mechanisms, idempotency, fault tolerance, and transactional patterns.
- Practical knowledge of authentication and authorization technologies, including OAuth2 and JWT.
- Hands-on experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and service-to-service integrations.
- Experience working in an Agile environment using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Intermediate English language proficiency, with the ability to communicate effectively in a professional environment, particularly in written communication.
Advantages
- Experience with API gateways (e.g. Apigee, Kong, or Tyk).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Dynatrace.
- Knowledge of Java and Spring Cloud Contract.
