About the client/project

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Data Governance Engineer to join our Data Office squad. The primary focus of the role is developing and maintaining Collibra workflows using Groovy, while also contributing to broader data management and governance initiatives. This is a dynamic and evolving area, with new components (e.g., Denodo) being introduced, offering opportunities to shape solutions and influence best practices.

Tasks

  • Design, develop, and maintain workflows in Collibra using Groovy and LCNC (Low-Code/No-Code) tools
  • Collaborate with data governance and data management teams to support enterprise data initiatives
  • Contribute to the introduction and integration of new data platform components (e.g., Denodo)
  • Analyze and manage complex data processes and workflows across systems
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members
  • Handle multiple parallel tasks, prioritize effectively, and adapt to changing requirements
  • Actively propose improvements and new ideas to enhance data governance solutions
  • Necessary knowledge/technologies used

  • Experience working in enterprise environments
  • Strong background in data management and data governance concepts
  • System-oriented thinking and ability to understand complex architectures
  • Solid SQL knowledge (Oracle preferred)
  • Programming experience in languages such as Java, Python, or Spark (Groovy is a strong advantage)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS preferred)
  • Experience with containerized application development and operations
  • Professional working proficiency in English (both written and spoken)
  • It gives you an advantage

  • Experience with data virtualization tools (e.g., Denodo)
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and practices
  • Hands-on experience with metadata management and data quality tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica)
  • Familiarity with Databricks
  • Knowledge of streaming technologies
