Analytics Engineer - 5476

We are looking for an Analytics Engineer to join our Data team. The role has a strong data modelling focus, with an initial time allocation of approximately 70% data modelling and 30% Power BI report development.

You will be responsible for designing and developing data models for reporting and data integration, using SQL and dbt, as well as creating and maintaining Power BI reports based on these models. The role offers the opportunity to work across the data modelling and BI layers and collaborate closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

• Design and develop normalized and denormalized data models to support reporting and data integration needs.
• Apply dimensional modelling techniques to create efficient, scalable, and business-oriented data models.
• Develop and maintain data transformations and models using SQL and dbt.
• Translate business and reporting requirements into well-structured and reliable data models.
• Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards based on the underlying data models.
• Analyze and improve existing data models and reporting solutions to ensure data quality, performance, and scalability.
• Work closely with BI developers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective analytics solutions.
• Contribute to the documentation of data models, data processes, and reporting solutions.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve data modelling and reporting processes.

• 4+ years of experience in BI reporting and analytics.
• Strong hands-on SQL skills.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI, including report development and working with data models.
• Strong knowledge of dimensional modelling principles and experience designing data models for reporting and data integration.
• Practical experience with dbt and SQL-based data transformation.
• Good understanding of data warehousing and ETL/ELT concepts and data integration processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex data structures and translate business needs into effective data solutions.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders in a dynamic environment.

• Experience with cloud-based data platforms and modern data analytics environments.
• Experience working with large-scale or complex data environments.
