About the client/project
We are looking for a Backend Developer with at least one year of professional experience in Java development. In this role, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of backend services, working with modern Java-based technologies and distributed systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable and maintainable backend solutions in an agile environment.
Tasks
- Develop and maintain backend services using Java 8+
- Implement and maintain applications using Spring Boot or J2EE technologies
- Work with existing legacy components built with Akka where required
- Design and implement clean, maintainable, and well-structured code following Clean Code principles
- Develop and integrate APIs using REST and JSON
- Collaborate with other developers, architects, and stakeholders to deliver reliable backend solutions
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and version-controlled development workflows
Necessary knowledge/technologies used
- At least 12 months of professional experience in Java backend development
- Strong knowledge of Java 8+
- Experience with Spring Boot or J2EE
- Understanding of Clean Coding principles
- Experience with several of the following technologies:
- SQL or NoSQL databases
- Gradle
- REST APIs and JSON-based integrations
- Docker
- Git and CI/CD workflows
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative development environment
It gives you an advantage
- Knowledge of microservice architectures
- Experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes
- Familiarity with Maven
- Experience working in Agile development environments
