Senior Cloudera Data Platform Engineer - 5367

We are looking for an experienced Senior Cloudera Data Platform Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-scale data platforms. This role combines deep technical expertise in the Hadoop ecosystem with strong consulting and stakeholder management capabilities.

You will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to design scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions, primarily leveraging the Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) and associated big data technologies.

• Work independently while providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions
• Design and support architectures for Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) and integrated data applications
• Provide technical leadership throughout the full project lifecycle (design → implementation → deployment → support)
• Develop specifications, concept documents, and both technical and end-user documentation
• Advise on best practices for:
  • Data architecture
  • Data governance and quality
  • Security and compliance in big data environments
• Support and troubleshoot production environments, including performance tuning and issue resolution
• Mentor and train teams on Cloudera technologies and big data best practices

• 7+ years of total experience (education + professional experience)
• 5+ years in data architecture, solution design, or consulting roles
• Proven hands-on experience with Cloudera Data Platform (CDP)
• Strong knowledge of the Hadoop ecosystem:
  • HDFS, YARN, Hive, Impala
  • Spark, Kafka, NiFi (preferably NiFi 2.0)
• Experience with custom processor development (NiFi)
• Understanding of data governance frameworks and data quality tools
• Strong knowledge of security and data protection practices in big data environments
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., OpenShift)
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
• Programming/scripting skills (e.g., Python, Java)

• Cloudera certifications:
  • Cloudera Certified Professional (CCP)
  • Cloudera Certified Architect (CCA)
• Experience in consulting or client-facing roles
• Exposure to enterprise-scale data platform transformations
