About the client/project
Tasks
- Monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, preparation of annual financial statements
- Managing general ledger reconciliations
- Reconciling accounts receivable and payable
- Recording miscellaneous accounting entries
- Coding and posting accounts payable and receivable invoices
- Managing petty cash
- Managing fixed assets
- Preparing and filing tax returns
- Supporting financial planning and forecasting
- Ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures
- Developing internal control processes
- Drafting and maintaining internal policies
- Providing professional guidance to colleagues in accounting and finance roles
- Cooperating with auditors and authorities
- Preparing HCSO (Hungarian Central Statistical Office) reports
- Performing daily tasks within a modern, integrated ERP and accounting system in a digital, paperless environment
Necessary knowledge/technologies used
- Higher education degree in economics and professional qualifications (accounting, finance)
- Certified accountant registration or tax advisor qualification.
- At least 5 years of professional experience as a chief accountant in accounting and finance
- Intermediate English proficiency
- Knowledge of Hungarian accounting standards (SZT)
- Up-to-date knowledge of tax regulations
- Advanced Excel skills
- Precision, reliability, and the ability to work independently and proactively
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Team spirit and a collaborative mindset
